MONDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL WEEK 6

Overall, not a great NFL sunday for Lock City Sports. Really gotta blame that Niners-Lions game in which for a while it looked like the over and Lions would both hit. Then it looked like just the Lions would hit. Then a couple suspect calls by the officials later, and neither hit. SICK! I think I might be the only bastard out there that was more pissed off than Jim Schwartz was after that handshake from Harbaugh. Looks like Harbaugh has a bad case of "little-brother-syndrome." Alright alright I'll stop being bitter. The 49ers really impressed me and its obvious that I just have not been giving them enough credit this year. That defense is damn good, and its not easy to beat a hot team on the road like they did yesterday.

But today is a new god damn day. Dolphins-Jets Monday Night Football is an awesome matchup. Regardless of how shitty either team is on any given year, these games are usually pretty close. Usually they really are. This year might be different though.

Before yesterday there were three teams that absolutely NEEDED a win or their season was virtually over. Those three teams were the Eagles, Falcons, and Jets. Eagles won and covered. Falcons won and covered. My gut tells me the Jets will win and cover too. I'm a Jets fan, so I can't ignore if there is some bias in this pick, but even if I was a Giants fan I would pick the Jets in this one. Here are my reasons:

1. As stated earlier, Jets absolutely positively need a crushing win this week, not just a 13-10 win, but a blowout win, or else you can kiss this season good-bye. As Philly and Atlanta showed us yesterday, a sense of urgency should kick in tonight for the team that needs it the most.

2. Matt Moore is making his first start for Miami and has to do so on Monday Night Football on the road in the Meadowlands. Hows that gonna work out? This is the same guy that got benched for Jimmy Clausen. He is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic. Ooohhh right it was a "shoulder injury" aka he had a rotting vagina that was stinking up the entire offense for Carolina. Plus, he doesn't have any good receivers to bail him out either. With Marshall dicking around all night on Revis Island, I'm not sure how he is going to be able to get his team in any legitimate rhythm on offense.

3. Daniel Thomas is not guaranteed to go tonight. He has that hamstring injury that has been bothering him all week, and quite frankly, he is the only bright spot on this whole team. I'll admit, the Jets run defense has been uncharacteristically awful this year but that should not be an issue tonight. They have been so worried about stopping the potent passing game in New England that they just exploited it and ran all over them. On top of that, Oakland might have the best running back tandem in all of the NFL, thus inflating the Jets' run D statistics. This won't be an issue today, especially with a banged up Daniel Thomas. If Reggie Bush has to take the majority of the carries, this game will be over fast.

I see you Jenn..
